on ADNC2006... (part 1)

its going to be at suntec for this two days..

what i have been working hard for the past month!

finally.. D-Day has came. pretty nervous. quite kan chiong in the morning that i have a stomache (again) and have to exit at dhoby ghaut for toilet.. since i am like late for 10 mins liao i just went straight to suntec to wait for huiyu to bring the delegates over. excited can! i have been communicating with these people on email for the past month. and now finally i see their "real face". jus like meeting a pen/net pal? most of them are "friendly" looking.. at least on first impression la! how much can i tell within that short few minutes? -.- also finally saw PRADYUMNA, our india delegate that has traumatised cheryl so much! he looks ok la.. maybe its still too early to say anything.. haha! but he has already given me one big headache! early at 9 plus sudden give some brochures ask me foto copy 30 copies.. and SUNTEC THE SO CALLED BEST CONVENTION CENTRE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A BUSINESS CENTRE TO FOTOCOPY!!! -___-" i have to walk ard like a fool cos no shops are opened yet.. finally found a bookshop that offers that and get it over with. gee~! what "good" first inpression. haha!

anw, its a very interesting presentation of all the delegates. they presented on their organisation and also an event that is prominent for the year.

Jacks asked me how i find the conference and how i can link it to what i am studying. i do find that it is somewhat diff from what i major (which is business) but some way i can link them together if it is looked at a different prospective. well, afterall its good to be able to look things at different prospective rite?

conference ends at 4 plus and its rest for the delegates for an hour while we rush to clear up things and arrangements for tml.. huiyu and me were rushing like crazy! later part of the day is the tour to red dot museum and FLOS introduction of the Lightouch competition! co-organised by us.

i didnt know that introduction of a competition can be made so GRAND! there werent press there, its more like a private party. with waiters walking ard in their white-and-black, wines or snacks in their hand and they will ask you politely: any drinks/"food name" for you sir?

OMFG. just like in the movies lo. haha! please excuse me for my sua-ku ness..

the finger foods are things like ham and biscuits or some cheese or chicken liver and some exotic food! cos FLOS is a italian company, they serve italian finger food like these.. dun believe how great ther were? catch a glimpse here:

mozarella cheese with tomato, smoked beef with black pepper, cheese ham, some cheese stuff and salmon roll. believe it now? and this is jus a glimpse of what they have in store!

after the speeches and sorts.. the delegates were sort of tired lo.. and so some headed back hotel while some drops off at chinatown.. i dropped off at chinatown.. with liyen and lynn and hui yu and the rest.. thinking we are going to reach home soon.. how soon can 1.5 hours later be? haha.. "soon" indeed..! we stayed for supper la..

well, i am quite happy with my performance so far.. hope the rest of the things can go on smoothly.. the small glitch at the hotel arrangement thingy arent our fault really, its HER fault.. (read: 23102006 post) hhaha!

anw, tml is D-DAY for them to judge my capability.. i hope the event will turn out well and those parts that i am in charge does not have any problem.. its OT day for me cos start early end late.. will update more on that later!

i am super pissed off at work today.. sometimes i jus dont understand why some people jus wanna make their existance the misery of others. why give me attitudes? there is already this little staff that is willing to work at that particular outlet. and now the arrow has started to turn to me. good. i am happy that SHE noe i am the only part timer left. cos the other one has been scared off by her! i j us hope that i am able to hang on for the time being.. pls.. dun let me explode...

more to add on to jess's bdae last sat.. hmm how to say leh.. i liked this kinda small celebration with family one.. it always gives the feeling of "closeness" lo.. i believe that its a special time lo.. so.. cherished!

it doesnt matter how many was there. it doesnt matter how "grand" the whole event was.. was telling Tat that it was the company that matters! Tat was saying that he didnt talk much.. but i feel that its the matter of being there that counts lo.. people can feel the effort put in.. and so we agreed that it werent the quantity that counts.. its the QUALITY.

today is just another kan jiong day!!! rush rush rush and finally done with the list of participants for the ADNC and sorts of arrangement. its really like a big big stone finally off ur chest! like i can finally breath smoothly again.. cos it was jus so uptight and i cant allow myself to make any mistakes la! haa..

remembering today for lydia cos she said she had accomplished on alot! she reconcilled with frens whom shd had not contacted for long and those that drifted apart cos of comm break down.. when will it be my turn?

well she did mentioned that effort needs to be put in.. but when u have put in ur best, then there is nothing to regret liao lo.. i agreed with her.. maybe cos i have been through this too much.. that it is a bit to late only to realise it.. ahah!

20102006 - Friday

had a hair cut. its at the new place that hitsu intro-ed. its not that bad actually! quite nice! jus that i find that it is a bit too short le.. haha! but i still love it!


special thanks to hitsu cos she not only brought me there and also waited and after that we had prata! at the place that's so familiar yet so strange... Athar! my old hang out during sec sch days... that row of shop house has changed so much! athirah is gone.. and a few new eatries has replaced several old shops.. well, some things are jus gone for good.


21102006 - Saturday

work work work.. its Deepavali! and i am so happy to work on a PH.. cos i got 1.5 pay~~! woohoo~! even thou i miss out on fun and outings, i dun really mind la. cos in the first place its not as if anyone got ask me out to have fun or wat so eva!

headed to east coast to celebrate jessica's birthday!!! full of surprises for her!!!


Finally got to the correct place with Kel reaching there earlier than me, helping me with some of the stuff. Dad and Boy set up the pit and try to start the fire (Apparently, the charcoal is partially wet), Mum was setting up the place and making sure of every single detail, Bro was chasing Dooris all around as she was once again fasinated by skaters and with me entertaining Kel, Tat and Janet after they reached.

Surprise No. 1 - Tiramisu with a picture of me and Patrick (Spongebob's BESTEST best friend)! Love the cake but I seriously don't know how to appreciate the cake coz I dun take chocolate (Not because of dieting, i just naturally dun eat chocolate. Dont try to ask me why m i still so fat) and it was way too creamy for me but i ate 1 slice, at least! Hee. Took a couple of pictures, with me practising some of my "Hide the face" techniques, Haha! Janet, Tat and Kel ate ALOT that day and i mean really a lot and i was asking janet "Where did all those food went?" while looking at her *er hmph*. It was eating, crapping, gossiping and taking pictures after that until Surprise No. 2.

Surprise No. 2 - Meiling actually called to say she couldn't make it coz of coming home late at night after clubbing, felt weird as the fact is that she went home at 3am in the morning that day but it was actually one of the earliest time she actually reach home after clubbing. She usually goes club hopping and goes home only at 6am. But anyway, i tot that she was really not coming. But she came at 8+pm that day, really glad she came down all the way to East Coast (Same goes to Kel and Janet but not Tat, Haha).

Surprise No. 3 - I opened Kel's present as he told me he actually made one of the gift himself! Well, only those who went knew wat he did. It's a secret!

Surprise No. 4 - Knowing that im a big big huge large humongous fan of Spongebob, they got me the Spongebob soft toy from Toy 'r' Us! Actually my Boy got it for me for my birthday last year but i'm glad i got another one coz i was thinking of getting another one as the previous one has turned into Dooris's dirty, smelling companion.

P/S: sorry i am too lazy to type it out... so i jus adapt la k? forgive me my dear readers!!! i spend quite alot of effort la.. and i think she really enjoyed it? thou its us like a small small gathering of family and friends.. havent got the pics from tat yet. will post them up as soon as i got them!

23102006 - TODAY

hectic day. i was reminded that the ADNConference is NEXT WEEK!! i always tot that end of the month is still far far away.. til today i start to count the date and bring my self to horror! so many things has not been settled yet! hotels not finalised, name badges not finalised too. and worse of all those %^&*%*(^&*^ jus dun wanna send me the slides soon! i cant get them printed and every thing starts to screw up. even the hotel girl tries to piss me off by saying she KNEW that my side would get messy and i will be lost. wtf...

anw, i shall settle them all by this wed.. all shall be done!

like i cant say anything that is quotable by others leh.. maybe thats y i always quote others.. haa! useless la i am not a good blogger... but i like to quote when i see things that is meaningful and they speak what i am thinking too.. maybe i am jus place lazy.. -_- well heres today's feed..

eat those food in the common table! haa!!! always alot of people paiseh mah.. i ate the butter short cake which i dunno is who bought from which country but defiantely overseas.. and also the mooncake from the oriental hotel.. not bad la.. i was aiming for the mooncakes from the raffles but it disappeared before i knew.. =(

mum's going to gran's place and i am suppose to eat out. alone. -_-

so sianz la... tot of asking "someone" but he did not reply my sms.. so i jio-ed xiu to makan lo! hohoo.. havent seen her for like a few months? (fyi xiu is my decade old friend! since kindergarten..) waited for her at marina sq before we wonder ard and have dinner at MOF. the food was so so only but the dessert was great! dinner with her is always great as we will have chance to catch up with each other's life and also do alot of GOSSIPING! haa.. hmm didnt really notice but this is only the FIRST time that its a one to one outing.. the rest used to have alot of people.. lol..

come to think of that, i actually always wonder, how many "friends" we make can last so long till years later, every thing will still be the same and it will still feel the same? i no longer noe the answer.. with so many things that has happened.. so.. i shall jus enjoy as it is now lo.. life has too much uncertainties le..

celebration for zibinz's bdae~! met binz and lingz up after work at VIVO... da new place! not fully opened yet but its awfully big.


was there early and so walked ard first lo.. and then its the meet up and we all went to the sky garden to take some pics...


theres actually quite alot of shops ard.. of cos alot of them are not opened yet. maybe we will drop by again soon to take a look wats in the full packages... anw, yongsheng was therE! doing his ipp at wingtai and they owns FOX man and woman too.. so he's there lo..

next we hit toy'r'us! the toy city! lol.. had lotsa fun and crazy times at the halloween corner.. those wigs and toys for the dress up! if only it is a festival widely celebrated in singapore.. arent that so much more fun!


bin was hoping for a cap. and thats what i got him. no telling in the first place. purly me getting the present on my own feeling. can we call that telepathy? =)

anw, this two "naughty friend" got me to a real surprise la! remember that time we went to hougang mall for ling's bdae.. we were at this accessory shop and i saw this kind of plastic ring that is real cute and suggest that we all get it.. but in the end we didnt.. well this time round.. they played secretive and got this ring from don't know where got our so called "friendship band"! jus that ours is more special wear ard finger. ahah! they said its a gift from them for me.. what else can i say? what else more can i ask for? i have friends that loves me! HERRY AND THIS TWO PERSON!!!! *of cos there is still alot more! the list is inexhaustive!

carina's treat at sakae for lunch. she says its cos ying ying and me helped her last weekend on the letters rushing them out. but well she is really jus kind lo to treat us. we are jus doing what we shd! =)

had nice food. but i dun recommand this out let. slow service and takes a long time to serve. meat and veg are served first with the rice coming 20 mins later... -_- rite? but anw, the small lunch talk we had helped us understand each other alittle more! thats good.. more to come!

Today -

finally!! i havent had the luxury to enjoy sat and sun for like a month!? but its off this weekend! due to the rashes i have and also the extreme tiredness i felt.. i need a break!

weather is not so good today.. th haze is making me sneezing...

as if like at genting...

shopping with mum and sis and cousin at PS today hunting for a dress for sis to wear on uncle's wedding nex month. but in the end, got so much more other things BUT the dress. !!!!!

i got myself a shirt from M:Industries at 50% off!!! i love sale! and also another long sleeve tee at S&K. also discounted! shioks!

today's victory: the checkered shirt and s&k shirt.
all these are bargains i decided to keep them for cny !!!

after the spree, went home and changed before heading to the dinner at the tampines chinese temple.. which my mum side family is quite involved.. nice open air banquet and the food is simply nice. those simple traditional chinese banquet stuff like steam fish, combo cold dish, stew meat bun and the cannot-be-missed yam paste with ginko nut! woohoo~!
